1. Cookies and Cream Luna Bar (I really wish you could get Luna bars here in the UK they are so delicious) I love the chewy texture of the bars and the white chocolate topping on them is yummy! This bar had a great contrast with the main part of the bar being nice rich dark chocolate and the topping being nice and creamy white choc- a great combo!
2. Apricot Clif Bar. Also really yummy, this had a nice sweet taste and was similar to a flapjack in texture but a nice and light in the stomach. I think these bars may be available from some online stores that ship to the UK so I will investigate!
Another regular snack I enjoy eating is baked beans! I have recently discovered these mini pots of baked beans that can be put in the microwave (great for lazy people like me!) I have enjoyed these little pots of goodness both hot and cold and I love them both ways!
The meals I have been enjoying lately have mainly been nice and colourful:
Sweet potato curry:
Corn and rice pasta with a mix of stir-fried veggies:
The meal used this pasta:
I have been wanting to try this for ages and it was really yummy! The shapes kept their texture really well even after cooking and I really liked the soft texture of the pasta. It was nice and soft but not mushy, unlike this pasta:
I made a rather boring- looking but yummy meal with this pasta: black-eyed beans in a spicy tomato sauce. The texture was a pretty mushy but actually nice and comforting to eat. Here is a pic:

I am really excited because on Saturday (16th) I am planning to attend an event in Birmingham called 'Veggie Pride', which has never been held in the UK before!. Check out the details here:

I love all things sweet potato, how did you make the curry?
I find rice pasta a bit mushy too - Sainsbury's corn pasta is my favourite. I am so jealous of your bar testing, I would love to try some of those! The vegan white chocolate looks really good - Humdinger had a stall at the Viva veggie show and I saw them advertising the new white chocolate buttons, but they didn't have any with them, much to my disappointment. I really hope they do turn up in Tesco! There is another vegan white chocolate bar available in the UK...*hunting for a website*...http://www.veganstore.co.uk/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=1&Product_Code=135&Category_Code=021 here - have you tried that one? It's not bad, I'd love to know how it compares to the sweet William one.
glad to hear I'm not the only one totally in love with luna bars...they are so good!
Hmmm, I've tried that other white chocolate bar Katie mentions...Sweet William is so much better - way creamier and, according to J, more authentic. Oh yeah, still need to go to the post office to send you more! I'm so slack but I'll have to do it soon before we start eating it!
hi, i happened upon your blog and as a fellow vegan of two years I wanted to let you know that you CAN get luna bars and clif bars in the uk, along with some rather delicious vegan white chocolate. Have you tried larabars? they're okay, the banana bread one is the best i think. I'm in north london and our health food store is really good. Whole foods also has quite a few clif/luna bars. Personally i hate them!!!
doh! the banana bread is a nakd bar, just realised. Oh man, I tried linda mccartney vegan sausage rolls for my birthday the other day - so good. Also, have you tried booja booja chocolates? absolute must. It's so cool to 'meet' (meat?!) another vegan.
